Can I auto-bill maintenance plans monthly even though service is seasonal?

Yes — most of our landscape customers bill a flat monthly amount Jan–Dec ($165/mo, say) for service that's heavy March–November and light in winter. Smooths out cash flow and removes the 'why are you charging me in January?' calls.

Do design/build projects live in the same system as mowing routes?

Yes, in separate views. A $22k paver patio install runs on a project schedule with milestones and material orders; weekly mowing crews run on the route view. They share the customer record but don't fight for the same calendar slots.
